The purpose of the Central Europe Foundation is to promote research and awareness of the necessity and usefulness of economic cooperation worldwide.
Dr. Elemér Hantos Prize
The Dr. Elemér Hantos Prize is awarded annually to a person, persons, or organization for outstanding achievement in promoting Economic Cooperation in Central and Eastern Europe.
Central Europe Foundation, Brief Description
The Central Europe Foundation is a Swiss-based foundation that concentrates on helping students from Central Europe and Latin America to study in Switzerland, Central Europe, Latin America, and North America. Students supported usually study at the Post Graduate level (i.e. Masters or PhD degree). Traditionally, most of the students supported are pursuing studies in the areas of International Relations, Economics, Public Administration etc.
Once a year, the foundation gives a prize, the Dr. Elemér Hantos Prize, which is awarded annually to a person, persons, or organization for outstanding achievement in promoting Economic Cooperation in Central and Eastern Europe.
The Central Europe Foundation is recognized by the Swiss Federal Government as an official foundation for the public good because its goals are seen as being in accordance with the Swiss government's stated humanitarian goals.
